(120) Mariner

120    Mariner is a Star Trek Online based Animated Series set in the late Silver Age. The comics which are already on the website, are a parody series, but the animated series is planned to be more of a drama.

A Review of Revelations & Anomalies: Fan Film Friday: Mariner: ‘Revelations & Anomalies’
Here are some select quotes from the e-mail they were kind enough to send to me:

"The series is set during the time period of Star Trek Online (early 25th century). Although the Federation and Klingons are at war, we will focus on the disarray of Romulan territory after the collapse of the Empire. Expect dangerous encounters with rouge groups of pirates and slave traders, as well as frequent encounters with the Hirogen who've by now come to the Beta Quadrant."

"We have a dozen scripts written already.  We have standalone episodes written by guest writers from other fan productions as well as multi-episode story arcs composed by our own writing team.  As our series will be delivered via the web, we're keeping each episode (usually just a piece of the bigger story) trimmed to a length of 7 to 10 minutes. This keeps the focus on action and moving the stories forward."

"I don't think we have a central location.  Members of our project hail from both the Americas and Western Europe.  We're fairly spread out, especially with voice acting because we want to keep Roddenberry's intentional diversity alive.  Also, only two of the eight main characters are human."
